One of the topics this week is stress and its effect on the body and also ways to cope with and reduce stress in our lives. For this discussion, complete the following:

1) Visit one of the websites provided below and select and listen to one of the following guided relaxation options

2) Read the two articles in the "Discussion Video Instructions and Articles" link included above.

After you have completed the relaxation exercise and read the articles, respond to the following for your discussion posting:

1) Comment on the completed relaxation exercise - Which one did you complete? Was it easy for you? How did you feel before, during, and after completing the exercise?

2) Why are deep breathing, meditation, and other relaxation exercises helpful for reducing stress? In other words, what do they do specifically to the mind and also the body that reduces our stress levels? Hint: In order to receive full credit I am looking for you to reference some of the physiological effects of stress on the body from the articles and how deep breathing and relaxation exercises can reverse or alter those effects.

3) Describe and/or explain how you personally cope with your stress.
