Classical transcription activators like Gal4p have two important functional domains, a DNA binding domain and a transcriptional activator. Rap1p, a DNA sequence-specific binding protein is essential for the transcription of some genes but does not harbour a transcription activation domain.

Suggest two ways Rap1p might function so that it is necessary for transcription of Rap1pdependent genes. Please use diagrams to show how it might work.
