The philosophy teacher posed following prompt: He wishes to give us pop quiz over the week. But he can not give us quiz on friday as that is the last day of week and it would no longer be surprise if quiz was given on friday. if quiz were given on thursday, it still would not be surprise because we already know he can do it friday, and if he has not given quiz by wednesday, then that only leaves thursday for him to manage the quiz- so it again would not be surprise quiz. and so on, we discover that it is impossible to manage quiz as truly a surprise.

obviosly he can give us quiz, on say wednesday and it would be surprise. Logic above is flawed. it is know as UNEXPECTED HANGING PARADOX, hangman paradox, unexpected exam paradox, surprise test paradox or prediction paradox.
