Background
The data set for this assignment is a sample of an industry data file containing job applicants' levels of industry experience (Exp, measured in years), their big five personality responses (1= strongly agree to 5 =strong disagree, where a=agreeableness, c=conscientiousness, e=extraversion, n=neuroticism, o=openness), their cognitive ability responses (where 1 is correct and 0 is incorrect, all the x's) and their managerial performance ratings (r, 1 = strongly disagree, 5 = strongly agree).
You are required to analyze these data to answer the following questions. You must provide sufficient output and commentary to allow a reader to evaluate the conclusions that you reach.
Q1.Customer service orientation is a compound trait (i.e., a blend of primary traits) comprised of conscientiousness, agreeableness, and emotional stability. Use factor analysis to select items that measure customer service orientation.
Q2. Use regression to check whether customer service orientation is a useful predictor of job performance.
Q3. Examine the hypothesis that industry experience moderates the effect of customer service orientation on job performance.
Q4. What research design factors, aside from statistical support in the regression model, do you need to make a compelling case for moderation?
Q5. Examine the hypothesis that industry experience mediates the effect of customer service orientation on job performance.
