in your paper, describe what you see in lucid,precise, and vivid language. translate your observations into words as effectively as possible, and demonstrate that you have looked closely and thought carefully about the art object within framework of what you have learned so far in the course. incorporate the questions that the object raises for you into your analysis, suggesting possible interpretations or meanings. strive to be creative and daring in your thinking while also remaining faithful to the visual and material evidence of the artwork as well as the information learned from your research.

the final paper should be 6 double spaced pages of text plus illustrations, footnotes and bibliography. consult at least 6 scholarly sources. all sources should be properly cited and documented.
