Consider the rhetorical style of Douglas' Narrative and Harriet Jacobs' Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl as works of abolitionist literature. In a response using evidence from these texts and material from our week's documentaries, consider why either Douglass or Jacobs would be more convincing for the cause of abolition.
