Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a modern-day tool in the analysis of structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer, among other things. FEA is essential in the design environment because it allows an engineer to examine numerous geometric and operational parameters which would be prohibitively expensive were they studied experimentally. FEA also allows an engineer to gain insight to the physics of a problem that may be difficult to obtain through experiment.
The purpose of this project is to introduce you to the application of FEA by using the ANSYS software to examine the deflection of an I-beam under a point load. You will create the geometry, discretize it, set the various parameters of the software, and calculate the deflect and stresses in the beam.
Download from Canvas the ANSYS Tutorial and complete it. Print and turn in the plots discussed in the tutorial (being sure to re-zoom if necessary so that the plot and text do not overlap). If you do not have access to a color printer, print and turn in grayscale plots and submit color plots to Canvas.

Solve for the dynamics of the resulting system for 20 seconds of real time using midpoint method.
Calculate the surface area available inside the heat exchanger.
Analysis of the motion of swing including velocity and acceleration plots of all moving parts and projectile analysis of projectile eg: flight path, horizontal distance, deceleration and launch velocity
Write a short technical report on Frequency Division Multiplexing
The humidity of air can be determined by use of two different thermometers; a 'dry bulb' thermometer and a 'wet bulb' thermometer. explain how these thermometers can be used to estimate the amount of water vapour in the air.
Evaluate the valve closure to achieve a water exit velocity
this would provide you with a set of Reynolds numbers. Next, using the integral method, determine the velocity profiles within the boundary layer to be followed by determination of the heat transfer coefficient values for your selected Reynolds numbe..

Use Psychrometric chart to determine Latent portion
Write a paper on Boyle's law and describe Compression and Combustion stroke . Also explain Charles's law and illustrate SI engine and CI engine.
Evaluate the effect of the water spray on efficiency (net work out divided by heat input) and net power out per kg/s of dry air coming into the turbine.
How may data be managed to support a function (billing, human resources, accounting, finance, sales/marketing, training)?
