Assessment Task: Major Assignment - Evidence to Support Clinical Practice

Assignment Instructions:

Your assignment is to be presented as a report, with each paper reviewed separately. You are not required to include an overall introduction and conclusion. It is recommended that you use the CASP tool questions as headings and subheadings to provide an in-depth critique. You are required to cite all additional sources used to support your critique, including your choice of critical appraisal tool/s.

Please follow the steps below to guide your critical appraisal:

1. Find a relevant critical appraisal tool, which suits to the research methodology of each article.

2. Each critical appraisal tool is comprised of a set number of questions. Review the questions carefully and answer each question in the CASP word document. These notes will assist you in writing your appraisal.

3. In the body of your appraisal, you need to respond to the CASP tool questions, using relevant other literature to support your response.

4. Lastly, comment briefly on the author and journal credibility (including the journal ranking) of each paper. Choose only the first and last author and cover expertise.

5. Repeat steps 1-5 for the second research article.

Appropriate referencing must be used (using APA 6th style)

Include a title page with assignment details, topic, your student ID and actual word count.
