A thin brass ring has inner diameter 5.40000cm at 20 celcius and a solid steel rod has outer diameter 5.50050cm at 20 celcius. To what temperature must both be raised so that the brass ring will slide onto the rod? If one can cools the assembled system back to 20 celcius, what is teh stress in the brass ring?
