An aluminum block of mass m1= 4.80 kg and a copper block of mass m2= 9 kg are connected by a light string over a frictionless pulley. They are on a steel surface as shown below, where theta= 38.5. The coefficient of static friction of copper on steel is .53. The coefficient of kinetic friction of copper on steel is .36. The coefficient of static friction of aluminum on steel is .61. The coefficient of kinetic friction of aluminum on steel is .47. When they are released from rest, will they start to move? If the blocks move determine the magnitude of their acceleration. If the blocks move determine the magnitude of the tension in the string. If the blocks do not move determine the sum of the magnitude of the forces of friction acting on the blocks. Show all work.
