Question: Katie Conboy is the new Provost of Simmons College. She perceives external challenges driving the need for radical transformation of the general education curriculum, the courses all undergraduates are required to take. She is also convinced that the college cannot afford to wait to build and then launch the change in their normal 2-3 year timeline. Most employees at Simmons College are unaware of the external challenges, and therefore frustrated by and suspicious of senior administrators' unilateral decisions that impact them and their work. The first hurdle that Katie Conboy faces in making change happen is to garner the formal approval of the faculty through a vote.
