As with any formal, established process, there are some pre-existing models and theories developed by others to help manage that process. In essence, many of these models and theories are best practices that can be used by managers to avoid reinventing the wheel. This is true for change implementation, where models and theories can be modified and applied to many types of organizations, including the public health sector.

With this understanding, research the theories of effective change implementation using your textbook, the Argosy University online library resources, and Internet resources.

Respond to the following:

- Explain your understanding of the three phases of planned change theory.

- Differentiate between content-driven change and process-driven change.

- Explain an approach to change management that encompasses task requirements and performance results.

- Describe a framework for change implementation that encompasses multiple theories.

Assignment 2: Case Study-Change Implementation

Case studies give you concrete examples of how a topic provides real-world benefits. A case study, "The Asda Way of Working," is presented below. The intent of this case study is to demonstrate how concepts and theories in this module apply to the change implementation process.

Based on your analysis of this case study and your understanding of the theories of effective change implementation, complete the following:

- Explain how you would evaluate the change leadership of Archie Norman and his top executives during their first six months at Asda.

- Recommend steps to be undertaken over the next eighteen months.
When answering these questions, be sure you do the following:

1. Refer to at least one theory of effective change implementation you have studied in the course. Explain in detail how and why it can be applied to this case study.

2. Support your theory by comparing it with another theory you have learned that would not be a good choice. Be specific and use examples to explain why it would not be a good choice.

Write a 3-5-page paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

1. Evaluate the sequence of interventions proposed in Exhibit 9-1. What theories of behavioral change does it reflect?

2. Why do so many change leaders use Step 4 interventions, mainly structural change, to drive their implementation?

Read "The Asda Way of Working (A) and prepare the following questions:

1. How would you evaluate the change leadership of Archie Norman and his top executives during their first six months at Asda?

2. Based on your understanding of effective change implementation, what specific steps would you recommend be undertaken over the next 18 months?

3. To what extent will Norman's personal style help or halm the effort to transform Asda?
