Question: A male green bug from a pure breeding population is crossed to a female purple bug from a pure breeding population. All of their hundreds of progeny are purple. A self cross was done. (In your answers, make sure you identify your genetic symbols)
What were the genotypes and the genotypic ratio of the F2?
What were the phenotypes and the phenotypic ratio of the F2?
In our population of bugs, antennae come in 2 sizes, long and short. A true breeding purple bug with long antennae was crossed with a true breeding green bug with short antennae. In the F1 all the bugs were purple with short antennae. A test cross and a self-cross was then done.
Give the expected phenotypes and their correct ratios (make sure you identify your symbols) for both crosses.
