A transformer winding was designed to be fed by an ac voltage of 110 V and to produce an effective current of 10.5 A. By mistake, the transformer was fed from this same voltage but rectified in a full wave converter.

Consider a lossless rectifier and no voltage drops across the connections.

Estimate what the apparent power applied to the transformer would be in both cases if its primary resistance was R = 1.8 Ω.
