A meter stick is initially at rest in a horizontal position. It is free to rotate about the 50 centimeter point. A force of 25 Newton is applied to the 75 centimeter point in a direction that makes an angle of 30o below the 1.0 meter end of the meter stick. Another force of 20 Newton is applied to the 10 centimeter point in a direction that makes an angle of 40o below the 0 centimeter end of the meter stick.

a. Obtain the magnitude of the total torque on meter stick?

b. If the moment of inertia of the meter stick is 0.33 kg-m2, find the magnitude of angular acceleration of meter stick?
