On a clear night, if you are patient and away from city lights, you can see about 10 meteors per hour. The meteoroid that creates a meteor has a typical mass of about 1 g (and burns up about 100 km above the Earth's surface). Estimate the amount of mass of meteoroids that enters the Earth's atmosphere per year? If this influx has been constant, how much mass has been added to the Earth since it was formed?
