Should we just close the hospitals and stop welfare and "let nature take its course"? This would strengthen the human gene pool by allowing nature to cull the weaker members of the human species. Although this idea seems to conflict with Judeo-Christian ethics that encourage helping the sick and the needy, from the point of view of the environment might be the best way to reduce human population. It would also solve the budget crisis this country has and free up large sums of money now spent on health care and welfare for use in environmental conservation.
