Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are mostly recognized as "packaged software developed" to satisfy standard requirements of organizations. From this point of view, the ERP literature involves quite a few reports on different risks and issues associated with ERP system customization (e.g. Zach, and Munkvold, 2012; Marnewick and Labuschagne, 2005; Upadhyay, Jahanyan and Dan, 2011). Keeping that in mind, I would like to ask for even more development of your thoughts on some of the risks associated with ERP systems in the review process in both industries. It would be great if you also share your thoughts/readings on how the risks relevant with ERP would be differed in two industries if the project were carried out completely in-house instead of involving a third party for some or all of the work.
