Topic: Technical issues can cause the students to miss assignments, which can effect a students grade.

Position: Teachers should allow the students more time on submitting their work.

Audience Description: The audience for this essay ranges from middle school teachers to college professors. Since teachers and professors also operate computers they know that technical issues can happen at any moments. Teachers also understand that this issue can effect the student grade. They may allow the student some extra time. Some ideas and values I have in common with my audience are believing in turning in assignments in a timely manner.

Goal: The goal of this paper is to persuade teachers to allow students more time on assignments if they are having technical issues.

1. Create a one sentence topic statement.

2. Develop a position statement with supporting points and a goal statement.

3. Develop an audience description that includes the audience's beliefs about the topic, values, and other commonalities shared with the writer.

4. Research Organizer: Identify six sources that are relevant to the topic. Summarize the top three sources and note how they each support the position.
