As the new Chief Probation Officer of a large county, you are concerned that the racial/gender makeup of your department's 70 sworn officers does not reflect that of the community. Of your seventy officers, 57 are caucasian males and 2 caucasian females, 3 are Hispanic males and 1 Hispanic female, 4 are black males and 1 black female, 2 are Asian males.

There have been no complaints of prejudicial behaviors directed at the employees. Your county advertises itself as an equal opportunity employer. The last census showed the county makeup as 42 percent Caucasian, 30 percent black, 25 percent Hispanic, 2 percent Asian, and 1 percent other. There are slightly more adult females than there are males. You have ten openings to fill. Before anyone can be hired, they must have a bachelor's degree, be drug-free, and have no previous criminal history above a class B misdemeanor. Answer the following questions:
