Course Work 1

Task 1:

This task is an oral presentation of 1250 words based on a workplace/site visit to be organised by the module tutor. During the visit, each group will conduct a health and safety audit and workplace inspection and present their observations and findings in class. The task is to (1) identify and assess hazards in workplace, and to (2) suggest some methods to eliminate and control hazards and risks in workplace. Each group must prepare a checklist for the audit. The workplace/site to be inspected and audited will be announced in class to enable each group prepare a checklist comprising of certain aspects of the work environment regarding occupational safety and health.

- Each group should preferably have four students and each student must take part in the presentation as marks will be awarded individually.
- Your presentation should demonstrate your audit skills
- A minimum time of 5-10 minutes to each group is allotted for presentation

Course Work 2

Task 2:

Based on the health and safety audit and workplace inspection, prepare and submit a poster of 1250 words. Your poster should contain workplace health and safety information as per the required standards in all areas inspected. Safe and unsafe health and safety acts, conditions or practices and recommended controls should be presented in your poster.

The poster should be prepared and submitted individually

General Instructions:

1- You are encouraged to document your observations for an Oral presentation in PowerPoint and submit a poster in an A-2 paper size before the deadline.

2- Poster should be simple with basic points, you can use colour for emphasis

3- Let your points on the poster be organised, easy to read and follow

4- Do not forget to reference your work properly; otherwise you will put yourself at the risk of "PLAGIARISM"

5- You are advised to use different references to complete this assignment, some of which need to be books, legislation documents, internet websites etc.

6- Wikipedia references are not accepted and such references quoted in any sections would lead to deduction of marks or considered inappropriate source referencing.

Guidelines for the Presentation

1. Use Power point for presentation.

2. Use bullet point and tables in your presentation.

3. The presentation should start with an introductory page.

4. The presentation should not exceed the word count.

5. ANY words, ideas, or information from any source used to support findings/observations, must be supported with suitable evidence and has to be referenced. If the exact words of an author, or if you paraphrase their words, or if you summarize their ideas, the original reference should be provided, which otherwise would lead to plagiarism and your work could be failed. For referencing follow the Harvard Referencing System.

Guidelines for the Poster

6. Use preferably MicrosftWord or PowerPoint to prepare poster. Use A-2 size paper and landscape settings, 33inches/84.1cm in width and 33inches/59.4cm in Height.

7. Use graphics such as pictures or pictograms with brief introduction.

8. Put the title at the top

9. Try to balance the items you put on the poster; for example, do not have all the diagrams, charts, pictures etc in just one column.

10. Body text should be Times New Roman font with 12 point, 1.1 spacing for Microsoft Word and Times New Roman font with 28 point, 1.0 spacing for Power Point. Text should be justified leaving one blank line between two paragraphs.

11. The number of words must be shown at the end of the work submitted before the reference section.

Make one PPT which include site visit in Oman and should attach photo, objective, aim , activities, hazarders, control and the result.

Task 2: need to make 3 poster individual witch include the : introduction, aim, objective and others as per the attachment of the assignment.
