Please provide a response to the following: 150 word minimum

There have been some issues with the effects of children and adults consuming artificial food dyes. Researchers found that food dyes cause problems such as allergies, hyperactivity, learning impairment, irritability and aggressiveness in children and adults. Americans are now eating five times as much food dye as they did in 1955. The three most widely used food dyes are Yellow 5, Yellow 6 and Red 40 which also includes compounds that also lead to cancer. In most cases it seems as if children are more affected by food dye than adults. A U.S. study published in Science found that when children who scored high on a scale measuring hyperactivity consumed a food dye blend they performed worse on tests that measured their ability to recall images than when they drank a placebo. I feel like food dyes should be outlawed from the US because of all of the effects it has on people, especially children. The number one reason why food dyes should be banned from the US is because it has compounds that lead to cancer. Another reason why it should be banned from the US is because food dyes target children more than anyone else. It targets children because food dye is in majority of the foods that children consume such as cereal, frosting, and candy. After doing research on food dye, I will for sure try my best to stay away from it by reading labels and trying my best to eat more natural and organic foods and the same will go for my family and future children as well.
