The block diagram for an elevator controller for a building with two floors is shown below. The inputs FB1 and FB2 are floor buttons in the elevator. The inputs CALL1 and CALL2 are call buttons in the hall. The inputs FS1 and FS2 are floor switches that output a 1 when the elevator is at the first or second floor landing. Outputs UP and DOWN control the motor, and the elevator is stopped when UP = DOWN 0. N1 and N2 are flip-flops that indicate when the elevator is needed on the first or second floor. R1 and R2 are signals that reset these flip-flops. DO = 1 causes the door to open, and DC = 1 indicates that the door is closed. Draw an SM chart for the elevator controller (four states).
A 750-N.m torque is applied to a hollow shaft having the cross section shown and a uniform 6-mm wall thickness. Neglecting the effect of stress concentrations, determine the shearing stress at points a and b.
Compare the noise floor in dBm with the GSM system (BW= 200 kHz) used by the European cell standards (available today in the US thru the AT&T acquired from the Cingular systems) assuming the same noise figure (NF) of 10 dB for the same receivers.
You wish to analyze spectrally a long-lasting (bandwidth limited) audio signal without any loss of information via a Frequency-time landscape.
The p.d. across and the current in a circuit are represented by (100 + j200) V and (10 + j5) A respectively. Calculate the active power and the reactive power.
The magnetization graph taken at 1800 rpm of a 6 kW, 120 V, 50 A, 1800 rpm, dc generator is attached below. Field resistance is 20 ohms and armature resistance is .18 ohms. Find: As a seperately excited generator
If each sample of the analogue waveform for storage on this disc is represented by 4 bits, how accurately can the signal be reproduced by the disc on playback?
Determine the real, apparent, and reactive powers of the unknown load; and - the pf of the unknown load.- determine the resistance that corresponds to a power factor of 0.96.
Let x(t) = u(t) u(t 1).Find the average signal y(t) using the above integral. Let T = 1. Carefully plot y(t).Verify your result by graphically computing the convolution of x(t) and the impulse response h(t) of the averager.
When a square wave with a fundamental frequency of 2khz and amplitude 5v and comprised of up to five odd harmonic (each successive odd harmonic having half the amplitude of its predecessor) is passed though a standard telephone line of bandwidth o..
A 10db attenuator having an input VSWR of 1.2 is terminated by matched load. Find the reflected power, the absorbed power and the transmitted power.
What is the difference between constant voltage biasing, constant voltage biasing with a source resistance, and constant current source biasing, in terms of advantages and disadvantages over the other techniques.
An analog system requires an antenna signal power of 100pW to meet the required detected signal-to-noise ratio. Other system parameters are given as follows: Gt(dB) =4dB determine the minimum value of the transmitter power required.
