Mentioning that Perls has a dominant approach when working with Gloria, and I do agree. A common theme I have seen people talk about in this discussion is the fact that this session seemed harsh or combative. I have mentioned this in another reply as well but Capuzzi and Stauffer do mention that the relationship between client and therapist should still be respectful and willing to be authentic with each other and seek equality together (2016, pg. 205). Thinking about Perls' approach, what you would do differently if you were in his situation? I was told that this was just his style of doing things, but the video just made it feel off and not as effective as it could be. It also felt rushed.
