Under what circumstances would you consider suicide for yourself? (If it seems incomprehensible to want to kill yourself, why? Freedenthal states that "bias is inescapable" in working with clients with suicidal thoughts and behaviors--the best we can do is be aware of our own bias and how it might impact our work.

Our own beliefs are impacted by our culture's attitudes toward suicide, our own personal experiences with suicide, and what we have learned/read about suicide. Reflect on your answers to these questions. They will inform your work with clients with suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Is this a good thing?
