The Drug-Crime Connections

The verdict is in: crime and drug use are strongly related! The question left to answer as definitively is: do they have a "cause-and-effect relationship? The answer to this question would greatly impact where we put our resources to eliminate both social problems: drug abuse and crime.

Levinthal suggests that to best answer this question, we should break down the question into three theoretical positions.

Briefly describe each position. Then tell us which one you find most useful. And finally, based on your selection, suggest one intervention you'd take to start working on the problem of drug use and crime in your own community.
