1 - Would it be possible to pile seven phone books from 1986 on top of one another, if you had them?

2 - Do people with philosophy degrees tend to do well on the SAT and GRE?

Both of these are empirical questions. Do we need to use the same kind of evidence to determine the answer to both of them? If so, why? If not, why not?
