What are the main points of this article The current study sought to distinguish between profiles of young people who presented with distinct combinations of environmental variables and symptoms of depression and anxiety in relation to profile membership. 158 Latino adolescents between the ages of 11 and 13 provided the data. Information on exposure to community violence, acculturative stress, peer and familial support, and parental supervision was supplied by young people. Latent Profile Analysis and Multivariate Analysis of Variance were the primary analyses. There was evidence in favor of a four-profile model. The average exposure to community violence, acculturative stress, peer and family support, and parental monitoring set apart the profiles. Anxiety and depression were found to be substantially correlated with profile membership, individually. Anxiety and despair were most prevalent in those who fit the profile with the highest levels of environmental risk. The results contribute to a Latino youth's individualized awareness of risk and protective experiences in the environment.
