Answer question and respond with 175 words APA

The Statute of Frauds was created to combat fraud. By requiring certain contracts to be in writing, this law on many levels achieved its goal for over three hundred years. However, in the 1980s, technology changed the way business was conducted in the United States. The fax machine first ushered in this new era, quickly followed by email.

Today, even more technologically advanced contracts are utilized. Many of these contracts are signed electronically. Courts have ruled that emails, digital images of handwritten signatures and even clicks of an "I accept" button on a website constitute sufficient writings that satisfy the requirements of the statute of frauds.

Some argue that these electronic examples are in many ways superior to their paper predecessors. Do you agree or disagree? Why or why not?
