Assignment: Oxygen Consumption
For this activity, learners will review the concepts of oxygen consumption with a particular focus to the oxygen response to exercise. Learners will then investigate and discuss oxygen deficit and excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) in response to exercise between individuals and exercise intensity.
Instructions:
A. You will utilize one of the provided spreadsheets below ( uploaded in the first 2 filles excel) to calculate the oxygen deficit and EPOC. One spreadsheet contains two assessments of two differing individuals while the other contains two assessments with the same individual. Pick one to investigate.
B. In each spreadsheet, calculate the oxygen deficit and EPOC for each assessment. Detailed instructions and a tutorial video are provided in the Reading and Review materials folder.
C. Next, create a line graph for each assessment, plotting each VO2 value along the x-axis for a visual representation of the data. Identify the areas where the oxygen deficit, steady state, fast EPOC and slow EPOC occur. A tutorial video is provided in the Reading and Review materials folder.
Task
A. Title your post with the spreadsheet you utilized (Intensity or Fitness Levels).
B. Discuss your current knowledge (prior to this activity) of oxygen uptake in response to activity or between fitness levels. Be honest!
C. Discuss your findings, providing your calculations for both assessments and your initial interpretation of the data.
D. Input pictures of the graphs you created and provide any new findings/interpretations that you gained from reviewing these graphs.
E. Finally, provide evidence supporting or disproving your interpretation. To do this, find one peer-reviewed scholarly article that investigates/discusses oxygen deficit and/or EPOC. Get the instant assignment help.

a. Consider and compare your findings to those in the current literature.
