It seems like it should not be too hard to know when to recognize (record) revenue. However, consider this example. Disney, Inc. is a multinational conglomerate with multiple business segments. Disney receives television advertising revenues from advertisers who buy air time on the Disney/ABC networks. Disney, Inc. also operates multiple theme parks. Disney earns revenue by selling theme park admission tickets in advance as well as season passes. In addition, Disney also earns revenues from the release of motion pictures in theaters as well as the sale of those films both in DVD and electronic formats. Disney also receives revenues from licensing agreements from manufacturers/retailers who produce and sell Disney merchandise. Finally, Disney also receives revenues from cruise ticket sales either directly or through travel agents.

Problem 1: Choose two of Disney's revenue sources and discuss when Disney might recognize these revenues based on your knowledge of the revenue recognition principle.
