Part 1: Teaching the Lesson
Prior to teaching the lesson, meet with your mentor to review the lesson plan you developed in the Topic 6 "Clinical Field Experience D: Planning Effective Reading Instruction" assignment. Under your mentor's supervision, teach the lesson to the group of students for whom it was designed.
Part 2: Mentor Debriefing
After teaching the lesson, meet with your mentor to discuss the following:
Obtain feedback on the effectiveness of your implementation of the lesson plan.
Discuss the students' response to the activity and what was effective in helping students practice the identified literacy skills and lesson objectives.
Identify potential areas for change or improvement in the lesson based on the student response and outcomes.
Use any remaining field experience hours to provide support or assistance to the class as directed by your mentor.
In a 250-word reflection, addressing the following.
Reflect on your planning and execution of the lesson and its effectiveness in helping the student achieve the desired learning objectives.
Discuss successes and challenges you faced in implementing the lesson as well as changes you would make if implementing the lesson again.
