3. Discuss the ways that the American family has changed since the 1960's. What would you say were the most important variables affecting this change (discuss at least 4)?
4. Compare three mate selection theories and select one which you think would lead to a successful marriage or union. How are mate- selection methods changing in traditional and modern societies?
5. Explain how power, communication, and conflict affect marriages. We also discussed the different types of marriage (conflict habituated, vital , total, devitalized, and passive congenial)- explain each one and identify the type which in your life you see most often.
