Question - After reading the Article "Perspectives: Abandoning Brown and "Race[ing]" Backwards on K-12 Education" (pg. 538 in text), discuss the following.

1. Discuss the statement made in the Parents Involved case, by Chief Justice Roberts when he declared "the way to stop", and how this seemingly simple observation continues to be unfulfilled in 2021.

2. Discuss why Justice Roberts found that race "could only be used as one of several diversity factors and not the sole deciding factor ", discuss if you believe this is a step towards eradication of inequity or if you believe it hampers progress toward equality.

3. Justice Kennedy who supplied the key fifth vote that overturned the school assignment programs, acknowledged that "this nation has a moral and ethical obligation to fulfill its historic commitment to creating an integrated society and ensures equal opportunity for all its children." Discuss if you statement and why you believe we are still attempting to accomplish this goal in the Parents Involved case (2007) and today, when the Court made this definitive ruling in the Brown case in (1954).
