Dashboard Design and Visualisation
Project Assessment Specification: In this assessment, you will investigate a business problem mentioned in the given case study and develop a dashboard to explore the data. The dashboard should be designed using Power BI tool and it would display the results for further analysis.
Case Study
Data science jobs are booming in industries. A Telecom provider company called, "Databel" is looking for a data analyst and hires you and asks you to get inside on their customer data, and so that HR team will be able to monitor the key matrices on customer. Furthermore, they want to understand what factors impact customers for churning or leaving Databel. It is easier to retained customer than to attract new customers.
As a data analyst/data modeller, you have been requested to prepare reports and a dashboard to demonstrate the outcomes of your analysis to the executives so that helps to reduce churn. Your target audience, big companies such as Coles, Woolworth, or data science industry executives, have extensive business experience but need more ICT knowledge and would like to see the job and skills trajectory through the dashboard.
You are required to add the below features on the dashboard. You are required to use the appropriate visualisations with graphics while you design the dashboard.
Exploratory Data Analysis with descriptions:
I. Create a measure called "Number of Unique Customer" and "Number of Customer" and show information in Card
II. Create a measure called "Number of Churned Customer" and show the information in Card.
III. Crate a measure called "Avg Extra International Charges" and show the information in Card.
IV. Crate a measure called "Avg Extra Data Charges" and show the information in Card.
V. Create a measure called "Avg Customer Service Calls" show the information in Card.
VI. Create a column called "Churned" where Churn label is "1" or "0".
VII. Create a column called "Contract Category" where contract type is "One Year", "Yearly", "Two Years", "Yearly", "Monthly".
VIII. Create a column called "Demographics" where if "Senior" is "yes" then Senior and if "Under 30" is yes then "Under 30" or else other.
IX. Create a column called "Grouped Consumption" where if Avg Monthly GB download is less than 5 write "Less than 5 GB", where if Avg Monthly GB download is less than 10 write "Between 5 and 10 GB" or "10 GB or more GB".
X. Show Churn Rate, Churned, and Number of Customer using Card.
XI. Create a Cluster Bar Chart of Churn Reason and total number of Customer.
XII. Create a Line and Stake Column Chart to show monthly charge and churn rate by number of customers in group and Group.
XIII. Create a Pie Chart to Churn by Category.
XIV. Create a Donut Chart to show customers by contract type.
XV. Create Cluster Column Chart to show Churn rate by Category and Gender.
XVI. Create Cluster Bar chart to show Churn rate by Grouped Consumption and Unlimited Data Plan.
XVII. Create a Line Chart to show churn rate by account length (in months) and contract type.
XVIII. Create a Line Chart to show Avg Customer Service call by state and Churn label.
XIX. Create a Scatter Plot to show Average Lenth (in months) and Churn Rate by Payment Method and Contact Category.
XX. Create a Pie Chart to show number of Customers and Churn Rate by Payment Methods.
The report should be well researched and written in accordance with Harvard referencing style. The length of the assignment is 2000 words. The standard report structure, including an executive summary, must be adhered to. Also, the report structure should be clear, easy to read and logical, directly addressing the questions. Suitable headers should be used throughout the report.
The report structure should be including the following headings:
Cover Page: Name, id, and Campus/distance (location)
Table Contents: Add your table contents.
Executive Summary: You are required to provide a synopsis of your report, which highlights the key points.
Introduction: You are required to introduce the problem to the audience in an extremely engaging manner.
Dashboard Design:
• Exploratory Data Analysis with descriptions: You are required to collect, process data, discuss the result of exploratory analysis and design the report pages with appropriate graphs using Power BI desktop.
• Dashboard Analysis: You are required to publish your report on the dashboard using Power BI Pro and put a screenshot of your dashboard with an overall description.
Conclusions: This section should be used to present your findings, summarise key points, limitations, and recommendations.
