In the wake of corporate accounting scandals, Congress enacted the Sarbanes Oxley Act. One of the key elements of this act is that the CEO of a corporation can be held liable for fraudulent financial statements. In the more recent banking collapses, there have been calls for more personal accountability of business executives and the board members of those businesses. Do you believe that executives should be held personally liable for the success or failure of their businesses? Should individuals be permitted to bring suit against them for any monetary harm they received? Should the government become involved in the regulation of big business and the boards of those businesses?
