For this discussion I selected the global item of Hip Hop/Rap. It has had a major influence on global society and has touched people in almost every walk of life. The art form which was said to be originated in New York city has had global impact spawning such movies such as Friday which has become a classic in it's own right, and even video games such as Def Jam Vendetta which introduced the genre to a broader audience. The genre has even influenced the world of fashion helping make artists like Kanye West, P. Diddy, and Jay Z billionaires in the process. What was an art form created in a microcosm has unexpectedly affected the macro in ways unforeseen by it's creators and will do so for years to come.
