Step 4 Analyse every observation looking at
1. Aspects of child development
2. Knowledge, ideas, interests and abilities
3. Play preferences
4. Social interactions
5. Emotional responses
6. Reactions to play environment
7. Collaborate with families and others
8. Ideas for future planning must be included in every observation
Task 2
This task links to Task 1. Information gained from Task 1 will be used to design curriculum for these three (3) children.
You will be required to be in charge of or run a room for a minimum of 4 days. There are many elements to this task as listed below:
Step 1

• Modifications to environment to suit your plans
• Ensure environment demonstrates links to family and community
o Home language evident
o Pictures relevant
o Indigenous information and positive images
o Inclusive practices
• Natural environment evident
• Place relevant learning materials into environment
Consider taking photographs of before and after to demonstrate the changes that you make.
Step 2 Consultation
Consult with your supervisor prior to designing your program. Take your observations and ideas to your supervisor who can assist and guide. Find out what the current goals are in the room so you can continue.
Ensure your design matches the philosophy of the service and procedures.
1. Write discussions and negotiations down.
2. Write how you used this information in your plans
3. Write how your plans match the philosophy of the service.
