Write the given essay assignment.
Length: 2500words +/- 10%

Task
Discuss the challenges that organisations face in aligning their reward and performance appraisal systems.

This essay task asks you to consider current professional and academic literature on the challenges that organisations face in making clear connections between their reward strategy and their performance appraisal systems. Reward is one of the most powerful tools that organisations have to shape the behaviours of their people.

To do this effectively, it is important that a clear connection exists between performance appraisal and reward. However, this may be easier said than done, because each of these practices has its own challenges, and connecting them in a sustainable way can be difficult.

Using relevant literature, your task is to discuss this issue. In this paper, discuss the evidence and weigh up the merits of the evidence put forward in the literature.
