1. The idea that, without a college education, one cannot be successful. Is this true? Undoubtedly, higher education opens doors that might have otherwise remained closed; however, are there other options? What about things like trade school, skilled labor, etc. Look at welding, for example, in some places, it only requires a certificate (proving that you can, indeed weld), and they can make some pretty decent money.
What are your thoughts. Is college the only way? Are there other options?
2. Looking at religion as a societal institution, is it necessary? By that, I mean, can society not only survive, but thrive, without any form of religious institution?
Furthermore, how does religion function within a society? Does it only impact people on an individual level? Is there a more broad function, like social control, perhaps?
3. Is it because as time and societies change, the family must adapt? Does advancements in technology force families to change as well? Look at the Industrial Revolution, for example. Before the revolution, the families tended to stay around the home to work; however, post the revolution families needed to migrate from home to work in the cities.
