Last year, the hospital that I work for started the implantation of bedside side shift report for nurses and Patient Care Technicians, in other to increase patient safety during their hospital stay. PICO Question Population: Patient safety during hospital stay.

Intervention: Bedside shift report.

Comparison: Bedside shift report vs. report outside patient's room.

Outcome: Increased patient safety. T: during hospital stay

Question: Does bedside shift report lead to increased patient safety? According to the article Bedside shift report: Implications for patient safety and quality of care (2015), the goal of the Nurse Bedside Shift Report strategy is to help ensure the safe handoff of care between nurses by involving the patient and family and it can save lives.
