Trust is an important aspect of an organization. Bosses want to know they can trust their employees and employees want to know they can trust their boss. How do the elements of self-management according to the text help build trust between an employee and his/her boss?

Now, think about a current or past work experience. Have you experienced times when your boss did not seem to trust your abilities to self-mange enough to give you the freedom you needed to made decisions? How did this make you feel? Did you talk to your boss about the situation? What kind of discussion could you have with your boss to reassure him/her of your abilities?
