During the course of your employment you may have experienced working for both a male and female supervisor. Discuss from your personal point of view the advantages/disadvantages and like/dislike of working for each gender. Use real life experiences if applicable.

An organization is diverse with members of both genders being engaged at every level of organization. During my course of employment, I have had the opportunity of working with both males as well as the female gender as my supervisors. There are various advantages that are associated with working with a female supervisor as compared to the male supervisor.

The female that I was working on was the project manager. She personally understood the plight of those who were under her and as such she could at times give us time for the break during the course of project implementation. Women basically tend to understand the plight of the employees as well those who are under them as compared to men (Glanz, 2012).

The only advantage with men in the supervision process is that they are always authoritarian and could direct some of the things to be done and they get done due to the authority that is related to men. What I basically liked most about the woman supervisor is that she was very open and managed almost all the projects in a very transparent manner. Projects should be managed in a more open and transparent process where all the members of the project implementation understand all the basic milestones of the project (Glanz, 2012).

With a keen analysis of the aspects of project development, project managers always ensure that the supervision process is enabled with the aspect of transparency being at the center stage.

A woman supervisor will ensure that all the tasks that are supposed to be performed are done within the project timelines that have been specified (Adeniyi, 2007). Additionally, they always bring the project participants into action by encouraging the development of various project deliverables within the constraints of the time that have been specified.

Additionally, women tend to be more accountable as compared to men which therefore means that having a woman supervisor will ensure that all the resources that have been set aside for the project are utilized in the most appropriate as well an accountable means.
