You are a gender non-conforming person who lives in a jurisdiction where gender non-conforming people are forced by law to use restrooms that correspond to their anatomical sex.

You have tried to appeal to the legislature to repeal the law, but it is dominated by politicians who are unwilling to listen to you.

You also have tried to appeal to the courts, but the judges were all voted onto the bench by those same legislators and they are all backing the legislators who don't want to help you. It could take decades for these judges to all retire, and it is years until the next election cycle. What do you do?

Suppose other gender non-conforming people decided to take a lesson from Dr. King & Gandhi and use nonviolent noncooperation as another alternative to make the state listen to your concerns.

They invite news reporters as they gather at a public restroom and enter to go to the bathroom, willing to be taken away to jail for the purpose of showing that the state is willing to commit injustice to people who are furthering a peaceful cause. Would you join them? Why or why not?
