About the assignment

The proposal should clearly present detailed literature review, the project objectives, research questions and deliverable of the project and approach / method & project plan and correctly identify the research areas and risk involved.

Assessment Criteria

The proposal must include sections on:

Literature review (review of 10+ journal papers or equivalent): well-articulated objectives and research questions, methodology that need to be followed in order to reach the specified deliverable (outputs); Scope (i.e. drawing a boundary around the proposed work).;

Resources required in terms of workshop access, support from technical staff, testing machines, etc.

List the cost of material or equipment needed to be purchased and give an estimate of budget. Discussed in conjunction with your supervisor whether the project is feasible within the time, money, hardware and software available.

You must prepare detailed project plan and project resource requirement and availability list. It is your responsibility to follow the project plan and keep the project on track.

Show the timeline by a Gantt chart with a detailed breakdown of the tasks required and all milestones and critical paths.

References (at least 10 journal papers or technical reports or standards or equivalent) throughout the text and a reference list at the end.

About the assignment

You MUST communicate with your local supervisors at least once every two weeks. It is desirable to meet face-to-face at a scheduled meeting time (perhaps with other project students) but if this is not possible, then update your supervisor with what you have achieved and what you have not achieved in the period of two weeks.

Assessment Criteria
• Students must keep project progress minutes reporting on biweekly plans and progress.
• These minutes are to be submitted at the end of the semester.
• Action items must be formally recorded and agreed on two-week time - all changes to your project plan MUST be communicated to your supervisor.

You will write a report to discuss about all aspects on your research project, including the research problems, literature, proposed methodology, performance evaluation and future improvement.

a) An initial overview of the broad problem followed by a comprehensive literature survey with a structure that supports, gap in the knowledge and justifies proposed work:
b) Detailed specification of the problem (you can use your proposal as a guide to prepare this section);
c) Detailed description of the methodology to solve the problem;
d) Detailed discussion of work completed with results and discussion - critical analysis;
e) Conclusions, future work plan;
f) Formal references and reference list.
