Roger is a resident in a disability care facility. He was recently placed in care by his wife Rose, because he was involved in a motor vehicle accident that left him with physical and mental disabilities. This has affected his behavior. Roger was once a gentle, quiet man, but he was reacts to various situations with physical and verbal aggression.
Roger used to be a chef and loves cooking, his other interests included gardening and he had a beautiful herb and vegetable garden, he would use items from his garden in his cooking.
Roger can clean his teeth and dress himself but he needs support with other personal care needs. He is continent, and he is able to manage simple tasks but he has not yet been assigned to any activities or group sessions. Roger need monitoring with his medication for depression and pain management. Roger can have problems with words and order to string a sentence together at times, especially when he is tired.
You're one of Roger's regular workers and have been assigned to develop a daily routines and activities and to develop a behavior management plan for Roger. As Roger is new he facility and his disability is fairly recent there is very limited information about Roger.
Roger's wife was asked if she would like to participate but she has declined. Rose, feels whatever she did, was ineffective and prefers that her husband would respond differently if she was involved, Rose wants the best outcomes for her husband.
