Describe in your own words (250), the difference between dietary fat and cholesterol, and blood fat and cholesterol. What is it about dietary fat/oil and dietary cholesterol that may contribute to coronary artery disease? Does a food need to contain cholesterol to cause blood cholesterol to elevate, why or why not? What specifically is it about certain fats/oils that may contribute to abnormal blood lipids?

What are the various forms of dietary fat and in what foods are they found?

What mineral is associated with heart health and why/how? (Hint...blood pressure)

Do added sugars contribute to heart disease. Do you think the new nutrition label will be helpful? Explain.

There are many heart-healthy diet plans today, it is hard for some people to know which one is true or best. Since heart disease is a major public health problem in America, experts have looked at the diets of other countries that have lower rates of heart disease, and compared. Doing your own research, describe three different heart-healthy diets from other countries/regions other than America, and provide a sample daily menu from each.

What are the similarities in the diets for countries or regions that generally have lower heart disease rates, and what is different? Do these areas of the world have different lifestyles/cultures that may or may not contribute to health, what, and how?
