Homework: Writing
Description: You will write an application paper addressing communication ethics concepts from the course in one of the following contexts related to your experience: interpersonal (or family); work/organizational, or public/community.
Your paper will vary in length and content according to the grade you desire to strive for. Striving for a particular grade does not guarantee that you will receive it. If you submit your paper early enough (the week before it is due), I will offer formative feedback to help you achieve your learning and evaluation goals.
Instructions for the paper:
A. Choose any situation requiring considering of communication ethics that you or another person has experienced in a personal, work, or public/community setting. If you're not sure whether the situation is appropriate, ask me. Get the instant assignment help.
B. Develop a framework drawn from the first five chapters of Fritz et al. (2023) by which to assess the situation. Focus on several of the major concepts or themes addressed in the first five chapters to assess the situation.
C. From the Arnett et al. (2018) book, find at least five themes or concepts that you can connect to the framework you generated using the Fritz et al. material. There are plenty of intersecting points, so you should have no trouble identifying five themes/concepts/connecting ponts.
D. Generate another section for the paper in which you employ two of the perspectives (e.g., universal/humanitarian, codes, rules, and procedures; dialogic; virtue ethics; narrative; any others others) from Chapter 3 to analyze the situation. Feel free to integrate concepts from your work in #2 of the homework as appropriate. Work in the ideas from Arnett et al. as you assess the situation.
