Assignment: Personal Code of Ethics

Introduction
We have learned a lot about what it means to win the right way in this course. Now it is time to make a game plan for winning the right way in your own life with a personal code of ethics. What are the things you value most? How will this affect how you act and how you make decisions? By developing a personal code of ethics, you will have a plan not only for succeeding but also for making a positive impact like Coach Gibbs.

You have learned throughout the course that you develop morals, values, and ethics from your family, mentors, and community. Within your profession, you follow codes of business ethics. Now it is time to develop your own code of personal ethics. Think about what has influenced you throughout your life, what you want for your future and your career, and how you can win the rightway.

Instructions
You will be developing and formatting your paper for this assignment without a template.
Ethical Guidelines

Step 1. Develop five ethical guidelines you would want in your own personal code of ethics. For example, I will be honest in all of my personal and professional dealings.

Step 2. Create a table that includes the following information:
a. List your five ethical guidelines
b. Identify the source of each guideline.
i. Look back at Coach's Huddle in Week 4 to review some of the sources of ethical development.
c. Determine where each ethical guideline will apply.
i. Is it something specific to your personal life, career, or profession? Or does it pertain to society in general?
b.
1. Which code applies to your personal life?
2. Which code applies to your career or profession?
3. Which code applies to society?
Look back at Weeks 4-9 to see the role ethics play in all these areas.

Role of a Leader
1. Now that you have your guidelines for your personal code of ethics, describe how you will implement them as a leader. Remember, leadership has nothing to do with your job title. Leaders can be found in every position, in every occupation, and on every team.

Leaving a Legacy
Coach believes the impact you have on others is perhaps the most important thing in life. You can do that by setting a good example, sticking to a code of ethics, and leading ethically. But you can also leave a legacy by giving back to others. Coach does this through his nonprofit organizations that we learned about in Week 10. Now it is time to think about how you can make a positive impact.
Select one of the following options:
1.
a. Propose a program or act that leaves a positive impact on others and that aligns with your personal code of ethics.
b. Describe an existing charity or nonprofit organization that aligns with your personal code of ethics.
