A starter motor in a car has an armature 20cm long, diameter 10 cm, and slots .5 cm deep filled with windings. The radial field is provided by the coils in the stator to obtain a flux density of .2 Wb/m^2 so that there is one south and on the opposite side, the north pole. The coils on the rotor, 10 turns per coil, are connected in series through the commutator so that at any instant of time there are 5 coil sides under each pole. What is the torque on the rotor when 1 A flows through the coils? If this were an alternator rotating at 1000 rpm, what is the dc voltage from a full wave rectifier?
